What's On in Epsom: 11 October 2026
Autumn's in full swing this week — time to get out, explore our green spaces, and enjoy what Epsom does best.
Good Morning, Epsom
Well, what a week it's been in Epsom. There's been plenty in the news, but there's nothing quite like a bit of autumn air and a wander through our local patches of green to remind us why we love living here. October's that sweet spot where the leaves are turning proper colours, there's a real chill in the morning, and everything just feels a bit more autumnal. Perfect timing to get out and about.
This Week in Epsom
- Autumn walks are calling — October's genuinely one of the best months to explore Epsom's green spaces. Whether it's a stroll around Epsom Downs (which is free, always), a wander through Horton Country Park, or heading out towards Ashtead Common, there's plenty to see. The trees are turning, and it's the right time to wrap up warm and get exploring.
- The community's pulling together — Local churches and community groups are putting on events and support for residents. If you're feeling like getting involved or connecting with neighbours, it's worth keeping an eye out for what's happening at your local place of worship.
- Markets are still going strong — Epsom Market runs Wednesday and Saturday mornings, as always. Great spot for fresh produce, a coffee, and a chat with familiar faces.
- Parking and events note — Derby Day might feel like a distant memory now, but things are settling back to normal around town. Traffic's eased off, and you can actually find a parking spot again!
This Weekend
Saturday and Sunday are shaping up nicely. If the weather holds, Epsom Downs is absolutely the place to be — grab a thermos, maybe some cake from one of the cafés, and just wander about. You'll see families out, dog walkers, people on bikes. It's what Epsom does well.
If you fancy something a bit more structured, Saturday morning at Epsom Market is always worth a trip. Pick up some veg, have a browse, and you'll bump into half the town.
For something quieter, head towards Ewell or Ashtead Common — brilliant for autumn walks, and you'll feel a million miles away despite being just a few minutes from the town centre.
Where to Eat and Drink
Yaadein over in Stoneleigh is absolutely brilliant for Indian food — proper flavours, friendly staff, and they do a lovely lunch menu. Well worth the short drive.
If you fancy something more casual, The Jolly Coopers is your spot for a proper pint and some solid pub fare. Classic Epsom pub, good atmosphere, and they look after you.
For something a bit different, Dastaan on Kingston Road does excellent Pakistani cuisine — really good value and the sort of place where regulars genuinely feel welcomed.
Worth Knowing
Weather-wise, pack a jumper and grab a waterproof. October in Surrey's lovely but unpredictable — rain showers are par for the course.
Parking tip: Town centre parking is back to normal now, so no need to stress. The usual spots are fine. If you're heading to Epsom Downs or Ashtead Common, arrive earlier in the day to get a decent spot, especially if the weather's nice.
Have a brilliant week, and do get out there. Autumn in Epsom's genuinely something to enjoy.
Cheers,
Your Epsom.co team
