What's On in Epsom: 4–10 October 2026

Autumn's here in all its glory — perfect weather for walks, community gatherings, and exploring what makes Epsom special this week.

Good Morning, Epsom

What a week it's been — and what gorgeous autumn weather we're having! The leaves are turning, the air's got that lovely crispness to it, and honestly, there's no better time to get out and explore our bit of Surrey. Let's see what's on this week.

This Week in Epsom

- Open Doors in Tilford: The Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Tilford (just over the border, but worth the short trip) is opening their doors to curious neighbours. It's a brilliant opportunity to have a chat over tea and learn about the community — proper neighbourly stuff. If you're interested in understanding more about our local faith communities, this is exactly the kind of thing that brings people together.

- Autumn Walks Are Peak Time: October's the month for it, folks. The crisp air and those changing leaves make exploring Epsom's green spaces an absolute treat. Whether you fancy a gentle stroll or something more ambitious, the Downs, Horton Country Park, and the walks around Ashtead are all looking their best right now.

- Community Support and Hope: Local churches have been stepping up with community events and support services. If you've been affected by recent events in Epsom or simply want to connect with neighbours doing positive work, there's genuine kindness happening in our community right now.

This Weekend

Saturday morning? Head to Epsom Market — it's on every Wednesday and Saturday, and October's a great time to pick up seasonal bits: fresh veg, plants, all that good stuff. Plus you'll bump into half the neighbourhood.

If the weather stays nice (fingers crossed), Epsom Downs is calling. Free, easy to access, and honestly one of the best views around. Pack a thermos, grab a mate, and just wander. The Downs are particularly lovely in autumn — it's not crowded, and you feel properly away from it all without having gone far.

For something closer to town, the walks around Horton Country Park or a gentle circuit via Ewell are well worth an hour or two. October's the perfect month for it.

Where to Eat and Drink

After a good walk, you'll fancy something warm. Yaadein in Stoneleigh does excellent Indian food — proper home cooking, not chain stuff — and it's the sort of place locals genuinely love.

If you're after something more casual, The Jolly Coopers is a proper local pub with good ale and honest food. Perfect for a weekend afternoon pint.

For something different, Dastaan on Kingston Road does excellent Pakistani cuisine — generous portions, friendly staff, and it's become a real community favourite. Well worth a visit if you haven't been.

Worth Knowing

- Parking around the market: Saturday mornings get busy, so if you're planning to visit Epsom Market, aim for early (say, 9am) or wait until after 11am when the rush settles. The car parks by the Playhouse are your best bet.

- Check before you visit: Given recent events in the town, do check ahead if you're planning anything in central Epsom — a quick look at local updates will keep you in the loop.

Have a lovely week out there, Epsom. Get those walks in while the weather's good!
