August has been calling us to explore, and this week's perfect for remembering why we love Epsom's green spaces so much. The weather's still lovely, and there's nothing quite like a proper local walk to clear the head.

Saturday morning, head to Epsom Market (High Street) — it's been running for years and locals swear by it for fresh veg, plants, and proper bargains. Get there early for the best picks.

If the weather holds, the Epsom Downs are calling. Free to walk, brilliant views, and you'll bump into half the town out enjoying the air. It's late August, so bring a jumper — there's a proper autumnal breeze coming in now.

For something a bit different, explore the quieter walks around Ashtead Common or head towards Ewell — there's a lovely riverside walk if you fancy something gentler. All completely free, and perfect for a weekend morning before lunch.

Where to Eat and Drink

After your walk, you'll deserve a bite. Yaadein over in Stoneleigh does brilliant Indian food — proper flavours, friendly service, and reasonably priced. Their lunch menu's excellent value.

If you fancy something more casual, The Jolly Coopers is a proper local pub with good beer, friendly faces, and decent food. The kind of place where you bump into people you know.

For something quick and reliable, Pizza Express on the High Street is solid — especially if you've got the family in tow. Nothing fancy, but it does the job well.

Worth Knowing

Parking on Saturdays can get a bit tight around the market and High Street, so if you're driving, arrive early or use the car parks behind the main shopping area. The multi-storey near the town centre's usually your best bet.

Check opening times before you head out — a few local spots adjust their hours in August, and it's worth ringing ahead if you're making a special trip somewhere.
