What's On in Epsom: 5–11 July 2026
Summer's in full swing — here's your friendly guide to making the most of Epsom this week.
Good Morning, Epsom
Well, summer's properly here now, isn't it? July's arrived with proper warm evenings and weekends that feel made for getting outside. If you've been stuck indoors too long, this is the week to change that — Epsom's green spaces are looking absolutely lovely, and there's plenty of free exploring to be done.
This Week in Epsom
- Free walks are calling: July's the perfect month to rediscover Epsom's footpaths and open spaces. Whether it's a gentle stroll around Epsom Downs, a wander through Nonsuch Park, or exploring the quieter routes around Ewell, there's no better time. Fresh air and zero cost — can't beat it.
- Epsom Market's on: Head down to the Market Place on Saturday morning for fresh produce, plants, and all the usual bustling atmosphere. It's a proper community hub, especially on warm summer days.
- Getting around without the car: If you're thinking about reducing car journeys this summer, it's worth knowing that buses and trains around Epsom are reliable and frequent. Perfect for popping into town or heading further afield without the parking hassle.
- Summer exploration season: Whether you're a regular or relatively new to the area, July's genuinely one of the best months to explore Epsom and the surrounding villages. Ashtead Common, Ewell Court House, Stoneleigh — all worth revisiting when the weather's this good.
This Weekend
Saturday's your market day — pop along to Epsom Market Place in the morning for a proper community feel. Grab some fresh veg, a coffee, and just soak up the atmosphere.
For the rest of the weekend, the Downs are calling. Whether you fancy a proper walk, a picnic, or just somewhere the kids can run about, Epsom Downs is free and always worth a visit. It's one of those local treasures we're lucky to have on our doorstep. If you're up for something a bit further, Nonsuch Park is brilliant in July — lovely paths, open grassland, and it genuinely feels like you've left town.
If you've not visited Ashtead Common lately, now's the time. It's peaceful, it's beautiful in summer, and it's just a short hop away.
Where to Eat and Drink
After all that walking, you'll be ready for something decent to eat. Yaadein in Stoneleigh does wonderful Indian food — it's a favourite with locals and the vibe's always warm and welcoming.
Fancy something more casual? The Jolly Coopers is a proper pub with a good atmosphere — the kind of place where you can grab a pint and actually chat to people. Great for a summer evening.
If you're in the mood for spice, Everest Spice on Kingston Road serves up excellent Nepalese and Indian food. Reliable, friendly, and consistently good.
Worth Knowing
Getting around: If you're thinking about walking or cycling this week, check local routes — footpaths around Epsom and Ewell are generally well-maintained in summer, but it's worth avoiding any that might be waterlogged if there's rain.
Parking: Weekend mornings can get busy around the Market Place and town centre, so arrive early or consider walking/cycling if you can. Much more pleasant anyway, especially in this weather.
Enjoy the sunshine, and do get outside — you'll wonder why you didn't sooner.
