What's On in Epsom: 21–27 June 2026
Summer's in full swing this week—perfect weather for exploring Epsom's finest outdoor spaces and local haunts.
Good Morning, Epsom
What a week to be outdoors! We've got proper summer weather at last, and honestly, there's no better time to get to know Epsom if you haven't already. Whether you're a lifelong local or relatively new to the area, this week's forecast is screaming at us to get outside and make the most of it.
This Week in Epsom
- The Derby's been and gone — and what a weekend that was. If you missed the 247th running, there's plenty of chat about it down the town. The free festival aspect meant lots of families got involved, which was lovely to see. Epsom really does come alive for that event.
- Summer walking season is officially on — Our local news coverage is full of brilliant suggestions for free walking routes around the Downs and through the quieter village spots. June's genuinely the best month for this. The views are spectacular, the paths are dry, and you can potter about without worrying about muddy boots.
- High street's buzzing — Saturday market's back in full swing, and with the weather like this, it's a proper focal point for the community. Great for picking up fresh bits and pieces, and you'll usually bump into someone you know.
- Family-friendly free stuff everywhere — If you've got kids or just fancy a budget-conscious summer, Epsom's public spaces are genuinely world-class. Epsom Downs is always free, always worth a visit, and the views across Surrey are something special.
This Weekend
If Saturday morning calls, head to the market early—you'll catch the best of the fresh produce and avoid the afternoon rush. Grab a coffee and have a wander. Saturday afternoons are perfect for taking the family or a friend out to Epsom Downs; bring a picnic blanket if you've got one, and just sit with the view for a bit. It sounds simple, but it's brilliant.
Sunday's ideal for a proper walk. The routes our local guides have highlighted—from the Downs themselves to the quieter village green walks through Stoneleigh and Ashtead—are genuinely lovely. Easy terrain, plenty of shade in places, and you'll feel properly refreshed afterwards. Leave early if you can; midday heat can be a bit much.
Where to Eat and Drink
After a morning out, Yaadein in Stoneleigh is a real gem if you fancy something proper—their Indian menu is excellent and friendly staff. For something quicker and more casual, The Jolly Coopers does a solid pub lunch and it's got a nice atmosphere, especially on a sunny afternoon with a pint outside. If you want something lighter, Dastaan on Kingston Road does fantastic Pakistani food—generous portions, proper flavours, and won't break the bank.
Worth Knowing
Parking around the market on Saturday mornings can be a bit tight—the car parks fill up quickly. If you're heading into town, consider arriving before 10 a.m. or parking a little further out and having a walk in.
The Downs are free but popular on weekends. If you want a quieter experience, go early morning or later in the afternoon when the light's golden anyway.
Have a brilliant week, and do get outside if you can. This weather won't last forever!
