Epsom and the wider Surrey region is in for a treat this summer as one of the world's most captivating artistic experiences makes its way to our doorstep. The Luminarium, an astonishing immersive walk-through sculpture created by the world-renowned Architects of Air, will open at Memorial Gardens in Staines from July 23-27.

This mesmerising experience has already captivated millions of people across more than 40 countries, and now it's coming to us. The Luminarium is like nothing else in the area – a glowing maze of domes, tunnels and serene light-filled spaces that visitors can wander through at their own pace.

A dreamlike experience for everyone

Described as walking through a dreamland or a rainbow, the Luminarium creates an otherworldly atmosphere powered entirely by natural daylight. Each piece is handmade, and visitors are invited to remove their shoes before entering this peaceful sanctuary. Ambient music plays throughout the labyrinth of tunnels and vaulting domes, creating a truly immersive sensory experience.

The beauty of the Luminarium is that it's designed for everyone. Visitors of all ages and abilities can enjoy the installation, with accessible routes throughout. While there are particular paths to follow, there are also pods where people can sit down or lie back and absorb the tranquillity of the space. Visit times may be limited to around 20 minutes during busy periods, though visitors may stay longer if attendance is quieter.

Recognising the needs of different groups within our community, a number of special events will be held inside the Luminarium during its stay. These include:
